New look Recycling Centre opens in Rickmansworth

This feature was added on 23rd January 2008

The bigger and better Household Waste Recycling Centre in Rickmansworth re-opens on 28th January, with an improved layout and greater access to recycling services for local residents.

The opening hours of the site will temporarily remain as they were before the closure for refurbishment at 8am until 4pm. Although the major part of the reconstruction work is complete the street lighting still needs to be installed. Once this is done the site will be open from 8am to 6pm every day of the week

County Councillor Derrick Ashley, Executive Member for Planning, External Relations and Waste said:

'The new site in Rickmansworth will offer many improvements to local people. It is now bigger which will reduce waiting times, and it still provides a full recycling service, but with greater capacity for all materials.'

'The works did take longer than we had originally anticipated and although we are only able to offer a restricted service during daylight hours for the first few weeks, we felt it was best to get the site open at the earliest opportunity.'
