rubbish in a speech bubble

Attention all Key Stage 3 pupils and teachers!

WasteAware have appointed CragRats Education to offer 'Talking Trash'; a Waste Awareness Education Programme designed for Year 8 and 9 students in schools across Hertfordshire. There is also the opportunity to enter our competition and win up to £1,000 for your school.

What's more, the programme is entirely FREE. CragRats are an approved supplier to the DfES, delivering programmes on a national scale. The programme includes an interactive performance followed by a workshop, including teaching resources for the school. The programme will be both memorable and highly motivating.

The key messages will include:

The tour will run from Monday 8th January 2007 to Friday 2nd February 2007. The 2 hour session will consist of a drama performance for up to 250 pupils for years 8 and/or 9, followed by a workshop to be delivered to around 30 pupils, whom it is hoped will be involved in setting up and running a project to be entered into the competition.

Participating schools are encouraged to run their own project to encourage friends and families to reduce, re-use and recycle. The competition entries will be judged by WasteAware, and will award the best entries. The prizes, sponsored by Aylesford Newsprint Ltd, are - 1st prize – £1,000, 2nd prize - £500, 3rd prize - £250.

Although schools who are unable to enter the competition may still be eligible for the performance and workshop, priority for bookings on this programme will be given to those schools that plan to develop a waste awareness project, so why not choose to get creative and spread the message of the 3 R's and perhaps win £1,000 for your school!

To enquire about booking a place on the tour, telephone Anna Swallow at CragRats on 01484 686451 or e-mail anna@cragrats.com. Hurry – places are limited!
