What is the competition about?
- Your school is invited to produce a recipe booklet inspired by the ImpAct performance.
- For the winning booklet, WasteAware will arrange for the printing (up to a cash limit of £1,500).
- The winning school may obtain further copies beyond this limit at cost to themselves.
- The booklet can then be sold by the winning school to the school and wider community to raise money for a school project of their choice.
The recipe booklet
The recipe booklet must contain the following:

A summary of the reasons why we need to reduce our food waste.
- Hints and tips on how to reduce food waste
- A guide to food labels (display until, best before, use by).
- A guide to food storage.
- Between 6 to 10 recipes that aim to reduce food waste or use up leftovers/store cupboard essentials.
- Illustrations/pictures and the school logo.
- Involve other students and teachers, and curriculum subjects for example, home economics classes for ideas and advice, art classes for illustrations/photographs etc.
- Extra points will be awarded for original recipe ideas.
Submission of recipe booklet
Entries should be produced in hard copy and submitted to:

The deadline for submissions is the last Friday in May (28th May 2010).
This can be supported by sending an electronic version to linda.whitehead@hertscc.gov.uk but is not compulsory.
