Ideas for the recipe booklet
This is where the students’ imaginations are their only limitations! The book should contain a mix of hints and tips as well as illustrations/pictures and recipes.
For example
- Rescue vegetables from the bottom of the fridge – why not create your own curry?
- Use up bruised and battered bananas from your school bag, by whizzing up into a banana and peanut butter milkshake.
- Use up leftover baguettes and make pizzas with any toppings you have in the fridge.
- Use a variety of left over cheeses to make a cheesy omelette.
- When potatoes are past their best, make a more exciting dish by adding chopped carrots for 'golden mash'.
- Biscuits that have gone soft can be transformed to make excellent cakes.
Above are just a few ideas – the main thing is to spread the word, speak to friends and family for recipe suggestions! Extra points will be awarded for the most original ideas, but please make sure the recipes are edible!
