Tyres

The UK produces 37 million tyres a year and this figure is expected to rise by 60% over the next 20 years (Waste Manager 1998).
Our recycling / disposal advice
Tryes or wheels arising from householder's own vehicles (i.e. cars) are accepted at the Household Waste Recycling Centres for recycling. However, tyres or wheels arising from work carried out by garages or mobile mechanics are not accepted at the site as they are classified as commercial waste.
When taking tyres to one of the sites, ask the operator for advice on where to leave it.
