CDs

Production costs of CDs are very low today and, as a result, large quantities are given away free with magazines and newspapers, and are often posted through letter boxes in a similar way to junk mail.

Our recycling / disposal advice

Where a CD is still playable and may be of interest to someone else, many charity shops will accept them for resale.

CD recycling facilities are currently available at the following HWRCs: Bishops Stortford, Buntingford, Harpenden, Hoddesdon, Royston, Stevenge, Turnford and Waterdale. At those HWRCs which recycle rigid plastics, the CDs should be placed here.
